Jeffrey Epstein acquired a more modest island - Little St James - back in 1998, but acquired the more expansive Great St James in the year 2016 for around $22.5 million.
These photos suggest he had drawn up development schemes to transform the sprawling island by constructing homes, an amphitheatre, an office beneath the waves and a pool.
You can see the blueprint is Pillsbury Sound, a waterway in the US Virgin Islands, marked on the lower right-hand corner.
The architectural drawing is annotated in handwritten red notes and features a legend detailing distinct areas of the land.
Accompanying this are what appear to be nine other construction diagrams and architectural plans, such as plans for dock shelters.
