Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced in the wake of a solidarity show held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of musicians contributing to Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the September show, which successfully generated a significant sum for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a team of music creators. The song showcases a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These donations will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of property described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
