Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the group of players after the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a vital match following criticising the club and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
He also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
