American performer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per reports.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a party host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
