Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
